Before Your Session
How to Get the Most From Your Time
None of this is required, but a little thought ahead of time turns a good conversation into a really useful one.
Your ID
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Anyone who comes in with you also needs to be 21 or older with ID.
What You've Tried
Snap a photo of labels from products you liked, or didn't. The brand, format and potency on a package give your budtender a real starting point.
What You're After
Think about the when and the why: a quiet night at home, a social evening, something to wind down with. The occasion tells us more than a strain name.
Your Limits
Have a rough budget in mind and any formats you'd rather skip, like smoking. Saying so up front keeps the session on things you'll actually use.
Good Questions to Bring
What to Ask Your Budtender
You don't need the right vocabulary to have a useful session. Plain questions get the best answers, and a few come up again and again with our guests.
How long until I feel it, and how long does it last? Timing is very different between a vape, a pre-roll and an edible, and knowing that difference helps you plan your evening.
What is this label actually telling me? THC and CBD numbers, serving size and terpene notes all mean something. If you'd like to read up first, our guide to reading a cannabis label is a good primer.
What's a sensible amount to start with? Your budtender can walk you through low starting amounts and why patience matters before taking more, especially with edibles. Our edibles dosing guide covers the basics.
How should I store this at home? Ask about keeping products sealed, away from heat and light, and out of reach of children and pets.

Concierge Questions
Do I need to know what I want before booking a session?
Not at all. Plenty of guests book because they don't know where to start. Come with the occasion or feeling you have in mind, and your budtender will narrow the menu from there.
Is a budtender session the same as medical advice?
No. Our budtenders know the products on our shelves and can explain formats, potency and timing, but they aren't doctors. If you have a health condition or take medication, talk with your healthcare provider before trying cannabis.
Can a friend or partner join my appointment?
Anyone who comes into The Reserve with you needs to be 21 or older with valid ID. If you'd like someone to join the conversation, mention it when you request your appointment.
What if I need extra help or a slower pace?
Tell us when you request your time. Whether it's extra time to read labels, help reaching or handling products, or anything else that makes the visit easier, our team will do what we can. You can also read our accessibility statement or call 914·427·7722 before you come in.
